5 Things to Know Before You Holiday in Dubai

5 Things to Know Before You Holiday in Dubai

Everyone likes to have their holidays in Dubai. Luxurious moments, fabulous sights and surroundings make it a perfect holiday spot. People who want to have a holiday with family and kids prefer this place due to the opportunities for fun and endeavours available there. Ladies like to do the shopping, kids want to see the sights and have fun on the beach. It is all there in Dubai.

Knowing your target visiting place is better to have more fun and get the maximum out of your trip. Please find below five vital things that you must know before travelling to Dubai.

The Best Time to Visit Dubai

Choosing proper time to travel to Dubai is very much crucial otherwise you may get disappointed by the unsuitable weather conditions. It can get agonisingly hot in Dubai if you choose to visit Dubai other than winters. You may not stand the heat. Even in winters the weather just gets pleasant and never chilly. In addition to this look for the holy month of Ramadan (when there is every day fasting between 5am and 5pm that stops everybody from eating, drinking or smoking in public). The duration between December and March is the best part of the year to visit Dubai.

Behaviour

You must respect the Islamic Laws when you are in Dubai. Observe your behaviour and respect the local customs and social trends. The laws in Dubai do not allow any person any kind of indemnity and each and every person is bound to obey the Islamic laws. There is a law that in the country, sexual relationship between unmarried people and homosexuality are illegal even kissing at public is illegal. Therefore take special care and avoid any law breaking activities.

Alcohols are sold in hotels and nightclubs only, which is quite similar to the clubs and bars in rest of the world. So in simple words; Respect the law and the local customs with regards to alcohol and sex and you shall have a good time there.

Moving Around

When you are in Dubai, you would definitely love to move around and see the sights. But moving around in Taxis is a costly choice and can squeeze your budget for other activities. Hiring a car with driver can be a best option. If you have international driving licence; you can hire a vehicle without driver as well.

The Must Sees

There are plentiful great sights in Dubai. A desert safari is an absolute must experience place. Shopping at the gold market, the Wild Wadi Waterpark to cool off, the amazing indoor artificial ski slope (with ‘real’ snow), the astonishingly green golf course and some spectacular hot air balloon rides. You’re never short of things to do on a luxury holiday in Dubai.

The Language Barrier

The official language spoken in Dubai is Arabic, but English language is not a stranger in Dubai. Try to talk slowly and clearly to the natives as they try to understand their foreign language. Speaking slow is beneficial for you as well so that you are not misunderstood.

Top Sights To See On A Holiday In Dubai

Dubai is certainly well known for its high class status, the seven star hotels, home to the world’s tallest tower and its manmade islands. However all the developments and investment have been built on what was once a little fishing village to make this now a must see location.

Whether you have a day or are on a Dubai holiday then there are many great places worth visiting, a couple of which I will share with you now.

Burj AL Arab

Holidays in Dubai could start with the so called seven star hotel, which officially isn’t possible since the highest is five however it is an amazing sight. Dominating Dubai’ skyline, Burj AL Arab is the world’s tallest hotel and before you even get inside you will experience this luxurious hotel with its dancing fountains in the foyer and multiple white Rolls Royce’s parked in the forecourt. If you want to see inside you will either have to have booked a room or dine at one the very costly eateries. Surprisingly the restaurant on top is very brightly lit making it impossible for you to enjoy the views. Therefore enjoy the views from the exterior, which is where the real beauty lies anyway.

Traditional Dubai

If you want to see how it was before the massive developments on Dubai holidays then there is one area that hasn’t been transformed into a futuristic zone. Located between Dubai Creek and Bur Dubai is The Bastakia Quarter. Here you will find art galleries and cafes dotted around the many high buildings. You can find amazing fabric by weaving through the textile souk after absorbing the local art work and then why not take your own tour on one of the water taxis (abras) or you could just its to ride across the water. If it’s about time to eat on your Dubai holidays then Bastakiah Nights comes recommended. This Lebanese restaurant has a fantastic atmosphere, complete with rooftop area to enjoy the evening views.

What You Should Know Before You Leave for Your Dubai Holidays

What You Should Know Before You Leave for Your Dubai Holidays

If you have planned and booked a holiday in Dubai you are no doubt aware of the unique culture and diversity you can expect to find there. In fact, those are the two biggest reasons Dubai is fast becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. It is a truly unique place that offers unique opportunities for everyone who chooses to visit.

Planning your holiday in Dubai doesn’t have to be hard work. There are a wealth of travel packages that can help you take care of all the details you need from booking hotel rooms to flights. Of course, when you’re choosing to book your package be sure to choose a travel agency that is reputable and will truly look after your needs. A little bit of research is the best way to be sure.

When you have narrowed your search down to a few agencies, search that agency online and see what other people who have used that service have to say, especially in relation to Dubai holidays. If there is a particular issue that people who have used that agency are reporting, you may want to consider whether you are willing to entrust your holiday to that travel agent. If price is your only factor then of course you need to weigh up the chances of the travel agency destroying your holiday and the cost.

When traveling to a foreign country it is always a good idea to familiarise yourself with the local customs and culture. You don’t want to inadvertently offend someone by wearing something or doing something that is considered inappropriate. Dubai is no different. While you are looking into the cultures and customs, take time to explore the options Dubai holidays present and plan a list of things you want to do and see. This allows you to plan what you need to take and to work out your budget.

On Monday 3rd August 2009 We went to the Dubai Mall and found that we could go right up next to the Burj Dubai. The Dubai Mall is the largest mall in the world and the Burj Dubai is the tallest structure in the world.

Golf Holidays in Dubai

Luxury holidays to Dubai draw thousands of travellers to this fascinating part of the Middle East every year, and though it is famed for its ambitious (some would say crazy!) building projects, shopping festivals, and extravagant luxury hotels, Dubai isn’t the first place you would think of when considering a golf holiday. But Dubai is the playground for the rich and famous, and has always prided itself on offering every possible luxury experience for residents and holiday makers alike – golf is no exception.

Dubai now boasts a small but impressive selection of courses. France, the Algarve and America may remain the top golf destinations, but Dubai is becoming increasingly popular for those who want something a little different from their golf holidays. These are no novelty courses – they present a fearsome challenge to amateurs and professional golfers alike hosting a range of top flight international events every year, such as the Dubai Desert Classic.

Where to Play – 5 Top Courses in Dubai

No golf holiday in Dubai is complete without a visit to the two most famous courses: The Emirates Majlis and Dubai Creek. The Emirates Majlis was the very first grass course in the Middle East. Known as “The Desert Miracle”, it is famed for its Bedouin style clubhouse and very challenging layout – it requires tremendous skill to play well here. The Emirates Golf Club now has a second course designed by Nick Faldo, the Wadi, which provides a very different but equally challenging experience.

While the Emirates Majlis may have come first, Dubai Creek is perhaps the most famous course in the country, and there are plenty of luxury holidays to Dubai that have this course as a main attraction. The Dubai Creek is a delight to play on, with long, rolling fairways that are scattered with palm trees, and the clubhouse is an architectural triumph that features a luxury spa and gym. It is an essential course to play on while on a golf holiday in Dubai.

Those are the two biggest and most famous golf courses in Dubai, but there are plenty of others as well. The Montgomerie offers a splendid round of golf on a very beautiful course, renowned as one of the most attractive in the region. The clubhouse is the last word in luxury, with a restaurant that seats over a hundred, a gym, sauna, club bar and banqueting room. The Desert Course at the Arabian Ranches is the best choice for those who really want the experience of playing golf out in the desert, with the well tended greens alternating with sculpted patches of golden sand. It is a tight course that demands accuracy, but rewards careful play. Finally, there is the course at the Jebel Ali Hotel, which combines a great golf course with all the facilities of a luxury beach resort. The Jebel Ali is an excellent choice for a luxury holiday to Dubai, giving you the chance to experience, sun, sand and spas alongside some top quality golfing.
