The World Islands, that happen to be an accumulation of man-made islands formed into the continents of the world. It is situated off the Dubai coast in the United Arab Emirates. It is going to comprise of 300 small and manageable exclusive man-made islands separated into 4 groups – estate homes, private homes, community islands, and dream resorts.
Features of The World Islands
The World Islands in Dubai has been designed in a similar manner like the three Palms. A rock base is structured on the seabed. And above the seabed, sand are dredged through the sea floor and subsequently pumped in order to create the projecting island land mass:
The size for each island would be between 250,000 – 900,000 sq ft and there is roughly 50 to 100 meters of water isolating each island.
The expansion addresses an island zone that carry with 9 km long and 6 km wide and is encompassed by an oval shaped breakwater – consists of a partially sunken reef and also above water sand bank.
There are no bridge building between the island, so you are not able to reach the island from any road access. The only way for you to go to the islands is with the use of water transport which is including water taxis and ferries.
There is 4 meters high and 25 kilometers long of breakwater that act as protection for the islands. It is by far the lengthiest ongoing breakwater ever built.
